From Digital Sustainability to Sustainable Development of Agriculture

The issues of sustainability of agriculture in the context of active digitalization of the economy can be divided into two main areas. The process of digital transformation of economy has an impact on the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas, while introduction of digital technologies has to be sustainable to provide long-term positive effect. The role of digitalization in achieving the goals of sustainable development in agriculture is prominent in three areas. Firstly, it considers the theory and practice of introducing digital technologies, the types and characteristics of sustainability indicators, internal and external factors, and tools for improving sustainability in agriculture. Secondly, it identifies the relationship between the indicators of information and communication technologies introduction and the development of economic entities in the industry. Thirdly, it requires statistical analysis of the impact of digitalization on indicators characterizing the agricultural sustainability using the variability indicator as the main criterion.
