摘要

This study investigated the potential of starch-chitosan composite materials for improving the quality of treated water. Physicochemical properties of starches derived from different sources were characterized, and the composite materials were evaluated by exposing them to treated water samples. The results demonstrated that the composite materials influenced the pH, reduced total solids and color, and significantly decreased total and fecal coliform counts in the treated water. These findings highlight the promise of utilizing sustainable starch-chitosan composites, particularly those incorporating potato starch, to enhance the quality of treated water. The study emphasizes the importance of eco-friendly water treatment methods and the need for further research in this area.
