An Overview of Chronic Neuropathic Orofacial Pain
摘要
Chronic neuropathic orofacial pain is an umbrella term encompassing a variety of chronic pain conditions that affect the hard or soft tissues of the head and neck region. The pathogenesis and mechanisms of neuropathic pain are complex. Nerve damage can induce peripheral and/or central changes that can manifest as chronic, persistent pain, and a perception of abnormal sensation(s). This chapter provides an overview of the common chronic neuropathic orofacial pain conditions.
