Year 2: Internal Medicine Learning Using the “1,2,3 Methodology”

  • Joe Lezama

摘要

This section continues the review of ten daily pearls for three days each week for the entire year and continues to form the basis of retaining important internal medicine information. As the internal medicine learner heads into year 2 of internal medicine residency, there is a usual equal balance between inpatient and outpatient rotations. Therefore, the pearls that are used in this section are an overall fairly equal blend of inpatient topics and outpatient topics within each specialty, as well as an increasing incidence of pearls involving traditional outpatient specialties such as rheumatology, endocrinology, and benign hematology. There is an intended repetition of some of the pearls topics of year 1 that bear refreshing in the very similar manner that the internal medicine learner using this book would be repeating the same specialty topic from Part I of this book during the same month of the year. This programmed repetition of facts will help increase familiarity with the difficult and challenging material of internal medicine for both clinical success on the wards and in the clinics, as well as in the classroom while taking standardized internal medicine questions.
