Artificial Intelligence Working to Secure Small Enterprises

  • Kai Rasmus

摘要

Cyber security threats affecting small enterprises are similar to those of larger enterprises. Small enterprises are also under the same cyber security requirements and regulations as larger enterprises. However, small enterprises have a smaller budget and fewer human resources to allocate to information technology in general and cyber security in particular. For this reason, cyber security tools with an artificial intelligence (AI) component could be a significant asset in securing small enterprises from cyber threats. These tools can be located in a number of different places within the SME network environment: on personal devices, on servers, on network devices, on the firewall, independently on the network and in the cloud. A few available tools were introduced taking into account this location distinction and focusing on the usefulness of the tools for small enterprises. After this, AI methods were then introduced into a cyber security framework for small enterprises. The main conclusion of this study was that AI tools are most useful for small enterprises when they are a part of a product that they can easily utilize. AI-powered spam filters used by e-mail service providers are a good example of this class of product.
