Survival of the Fittest: Decoding Competition and Its Evolution
摘要
In this chapter, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the industry life cycle, highlighting the influence of four key processes on competitive strategies: the evolution of technology, the progressive development of business models, the widespread diffusion of demand, and the evolution of competitive pressures. The competitive process impacts critical industry variables, including sales, prices, costs, and the number of competitors, thereby shaping the essential priorities of organizations. In addition, we emphasize the need for organizations to adapt their priorities in response to the evolving competitive landscape, effectively addressing inevitable challenges to ensure successful implementation and sustained competitiveness in dynamic business environments. To achieve this goal, we include examples, statistics, and figures that illustrate evolution across diverse and well-known industries.
