Assessment of DMDD with the Disruptive Mood Questionnaire

This chapter introduces the Disruptive Mood Questionnaire (DMQ) as an innovative and nationally standardized assessment tool designed for children aged 4 through 18 years. The DMQ provides a comprehensive evaluation of emotions, emotional regulation, and behavior across diverse settings. Developed for use by both parents and teachers, this tool offers a valuable resource for assessing disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD) in children. This chapter explores the DMQ’s structure, application, and relevance in clinical and educational settings, emphasizing its role in enhancing the understanding and identification of emotional and behavioral challenges in children, ultimately aiding to more effective intervention and support strategies.
