On the Global Stage
摘要
This chapter examines the extent of engagement among sociologists worldwide in topics that are relevant to African society. Africa evokes interest among Africans living on the continent and those living outside its borders. Both have made efforts to study and understand Africa from a range of perspectives. The analysis presented in this chapter demonstrates the presence of African sociology in international forums such as conferences. The chapter discusses the topics of African sociology that are presented at major international platforms. It analyses the features of the presenters as well. The empirical analysis outlined in this chapter establishes connections between the presenters and their backgrounds, co-authorship, collaboration, topics, methodology and the study context.
