Technology-Based Assessments of Frailty
摘要
Technology has become an integral part of healthcare and will be increasingly so over time. Technology could be a vehicle for expanding and scaling frailty assessments in older adults. Despite a large commercial technology market, the evidence base relating various technology measures to clinical frailty measures is in its infancy. Validation and implementation science studies are in great need. Prior to clinical integration, the barriers to technology use must also be addressed. This chapter will provide a high-level overview of the types of technology available for measuring frailty in the future, will provide examples from the literature in which a technology has been related to frailty and will outline key limitations and future research priorities.
