Frailty Assessment: The FRAIL Scale

The FRAIL scale is a highly validated, brief, 5-item questionnaire used to identify the under-diagnosed geriatric syndrome of frailty. It can be administered by any healthcare professional in any healthcare setting across the geriatric continuum of care and does not require the use of sophisticated equipment for administration. Additionally, the FRAIL scale is a useful component of the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit.
