The technological aspects of the story behind Michaelangelo’s execution of his statue of David set the stage for an exploration of the esthetics of other well-known works of sculpture. As well, Michaelangelo’s astonishing skill in painting the Sistine Chapel invites comparison with that of his contemporaries.
