Temple Waste and Its Mitigation Using Vermitransformation Technology for Green Future

The management of temple waste poses a significant challenge in the pursuit of a sustainable and green future. Temples, being central to religious and cultural practices, generate substantial amounts of organic waste from offerings, floral decorations, and daily rituals. Conventional waste disposal methods often lead to environmental pollution and resource wastage, exacerbating ecological concerns. This review article explores the potential of Vermitransformation Technology (VTT) as an ecofriendly and efficient solution for managing temple waste and promoting a greener future. Vermitransformation Technology is a novel approach that utilizes earthworms to transform organic waste into nutrient-rich vermicompost. By harnessing the natural abilities of earthworms, VTT accelerates the decomposition process, leading to a reduction in waste volume and odor while enriching the resulting compost with essential nutrients. The produced vermicompost offers a valuable resource for soil enhancement and sustainable agriculture, promoting the adoption of circular economy principles. In this review, we present an in-depth analysis of the challenges associated with temple waste management and the environmental implications of conventional disposal methods. Furthermore, we discuss the various applications of VTT, its advantages over traditional composting techniques, and its potential to create a positive impact on the environment. In conclusion, this review article underscores the urgent need for sustainable waste management solutions in religious establishments. Vermitransformation Technology emerges as a promising and ecofriendly approach to address temple waste challenges while promoting a greener future. By adopting VTT, temples can play a pivotal role in inspiring broader societal shifts toward sustainability, fostering an environment where tradition and innovation converge to protect our planet for generations to come.
