Perspectives of Fast-Track Surgery Hip and Knee Arthroplasty in Asia: Challenges and Future Direction

The introduction of “Fast-Track Surgery” significantly improved postoperative recovery and many European and North American countries have implemented Fast-Track Surgery (FTS) as it gained popularity. The trend of FTS has not received a similar welcome in Asian countries. Why is this so? What are the hurdles that surgeons have to overcome in these specific countries?
