The Development in South and Central America and the Caribbean
摘要
This chapter is based, among other things, on my work at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and visits to neighboring countries such as Venezuela, Guyana, Jamaica, and Barbados. It is particularly important, as I mentioned earlier, that created systems can be duplicated very quickly. An English and a Spanish version of systems covers all of South and Central America apart from Brazil. Interest in certain applications naturally depends on the country in question. In Guyana, the focus is on plant and soil monitoring, parasite control, livestock monitoring, and the use of fertilizers and weedkillers. The training of AI experts is most advanced in Belize. Argentina and Uruguay also have very broad-based programs for the use of AI methods.
