摘要

Starting from the 1930s, businesses have been recognized not merely as economic entities but as societal contributors, emphasizing the need to address the diverse concerns of stakeholders. Gender inequality represents a pertinent challenge in sustainable development, requiring companies to embed gender equity principles into their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies. The rising interest of scholars, investors, and policymakers in gender equality has led to heightened corporate awareness and intensified legislative actions. While international organizations like the UN and GRI have championed gender-sensitive metrics, a conspicuous deficiency remains in corporate gender disclosure. This study endeavours to nest gender equality within the expansive frameworks of Gender Diversity Management (GDM) and Gender Disclosure (GD) in public sectors, corporations, and Non-profit Organizations (NPOs). The research collects and deepens the existing literature investigating this topic to unveil emergent patterns and uncharted research territories. Authors applied a traditional review, adopting a critical approach to assess theories or hypotheses by critically examining the methods and results of single primary studies, emphasizing background and contextual material. Based on the initial findings, through the analysis of a pilot case study, we will test the strands of study drawn from the literature with approaches from practice to understand whether and to what extent companies’ choices on gender disclosure converge/diverge from scholars’ theoretical approaches. Our study contributes to the broader discourse on gender diversity management and GD by offering an organized literature review. Furthermore, it casts light on potential trajectories for future research, emphasizing the need for enhanced corporate communication strategies surrounding gender inclusivity..
