Pharmacological Management of Behavioral Addictions
摘要
Behavioral addictions, including gambling disorder, Internet gaming disorder, possibly problematic use of the Internet, problematic shopping, compulsive sexual behavior disorder, and binge eating disorder, are impairing conditions marked by impulsive and compulsive behaviors. Several pharmacologic agents, including opioid-receptor antagonists, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, stimulants, and glutamatergic agents, have been used with varying levels of evidence in treating each behavior/condition. As a general guideline, considering co-occurring conditions is helpful in deciding whether to use pharmacologic agents and which agents to use in treating people with behavioral addictions.
