Nicotine use disorder is a common diagnosis seen in medical and psychiatric clinics around the United States. Given the high disease burden discussed in the previous chapter, it is important to be able to recognize, diagnose, and treat patients with nicotine use disorder in a timely fashion. In this chapter, we will explore treatment options for nicotine use disorder, including pharmacotherapies along with nicotine replacement therapies.
