Synthetizing the Contributions

  • Sabina Pultz

摘要

This book provides a social psychological analysis of how unemployed people are governed and especially how this is linked to how they govern themselves in heterogeneous ways. This book has not allowed an exhaustive answer; however, equipped with a governmentalized social psychological figure, I identify what I consider to be key issues regarding the specificities of the struggles unemployed people find themselves in today. Unemployed people govern themselves partly as an effect of how they are governed being in emotional debt: receiving money from the state but paying an affective price. The three analytical chapters focused on particular areas of government, each contributing to the overall puzzle. The purpose of this synthesizing chapter is to reconfigure the various partial elements and gather them into a whole. Producing such knowledge allows us to dig deeper in terms of understanding the various struggles that unemployed people face as well as it allows me to identify how the different areas of government intersect and interact and are managed by unemployed people in the affective economy.
