Evolution of Rhinoplasty Surgery

The goal of this chapter is to review the evolution of rhinoplasty through the discussion of five seminal articles in rhinoplasty. These papers account for significant paradigm shift in how rhinoplasty surgeons prepare, approach, and execute the contemporary nasal surgery. These selected articles detail several decades of rhinoplasty history, but we additionally support these articles with references that further augment the modern rhinoplasty surgeon’s understanding of aesthetic and functional nasal surgery. These articles cannot and will not reflect all the evolution that this surgery has undergone. Simply, these articles are selected on the important role they play in current rhinoplasty and are indeed five of many.
