Evolution of Facelift Surgery

The goal of this chapter is to trace the evolution of facelift surgery through the discussion of five key landmark articles spanning several decades. These landmark papers provide a comprehensive overview of facelift surgery and offer valuable insights into the anatomy, techniques, and outcomes of various approaches to surgically rejuvenate the face. In addition, we cite other supporting articles contributing to our understanding of the modern facelift. We believe that these five key articles are essential reading for all performing facelifts, whether a young trainee or an experienced master plastic surgeon.
