Evolution of Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Management

The landscape of skin cancer treatment has changed dramatically over the past two decades. While radical surgical resection has traditionally been the default approach, advancements in multidisciplinary management has enabled more nuanced, personalized approaches that minimize morbidity without compromising oncological efficacy. In this chapter, five key conceptual advances that have engendered a paradigm shift in the management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer will be discussed, including: This review will focus on five key studies and explore how they, together with supporting publications, have shaped each of the above domains in contemporary skin cancer management.
