Writing Your Speech

Moving from theory to practice, this chapter introduces the approach to speech writing and the point of view taken for the choices that may lead to a more effective speech. Establishing a central idea and making use of literary tools such as metaphor, simile, and proverb to create an accessible and authentic speech are subjects covered in this chapter. A study of dramatic structure is also included here as it pertains to storytelling and the development of a premise.
