The Technical Impacts of the Emergence of Renewable Energies Decentralized in the Distribution Grid

The first renewable energy production units connected to the distribution grid are generally built without imposing complex technical constraints. However, the continuous increase in the penetration rate of these decentralized generations imposes constraints on the quality of service, the stability of grid, protection plan, grid capacity etc. Therefore, the connection of decentralized production facilities in the medium voltage (MV) grid is only possible after having checked that some number of technical constraints are respected. Nevertheless, a parametric study methodology must be putted in place. The impact identified to be resolved in this article is linked to the network’s reception capacity, as it is the most critical impact for the operation of the network. Which must be qualified when opening the MV network on decentralized renewable generation. Secondly, there are network disturbances during the direct injection of a small renewable energy power plant such as harmonics, flickers and the reception capacity. To evaluate this impact, we have chosen to set up a methodology that will be developed in stages.
