摘要

Plastics play a significant role in our daily lives; They are used in every industry, from mass-market to high-performance. This essay will concentrate on the thermoplastic Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) polymer. This decision is supported by ABS’s ability to be used with a variety of materials. This study’s objective is to assess ABS’s damage and predictability in order to determine its remaining lifetime. In order to do this, we used ABS notched specimens made in accordance with ASTM standards, which are tested for tensile strength at various notch angles. We were able to monitor the evolution of the ultimate stress thanks to the experimental findings, and we then calculated the damage. Following that, three damage phases that can predict the first onset of harm and the critical damage might be found. In order to perform preventative maintenance, be able to intervene in good time. This study also compares two damage calculation techniques, static damage and damage by unified theory, using an analogy to cyclical activity. The analysis revealed good agreement.
