Implementation of Weighted Parallel Interference Cancellation Technique for Multi User Detection in UWA Communication

Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a considerable system for high rate underwater acoustic (UWA) wireless communication. But multi-access interference (MAI) degrades the capacity of the considerable system Therefore, multiuser detection (MUD) is needed for symbol detection in MIMO-OFDM system in UWA communication. In our work, MUD is achieved in UWA communication using weighted parallel interference cancellation (WPIC) technique. The channel model considered in this research is based on singular value decomposition (SVD) technique. The simulation results reveal that proposed method achieve good system performance over conventional PIC and matched filter (MF) detector in terms of achievable bit error rate (BER).
