The Experimental Perspective to Address Critical Infrastructure Security Issues in Times of Crisis

This chapter suggests to make use of an experimental perspective for managing necessary transformations in high-risk industry. In order to do so, current trends in research on and with experiments beyond scientific laboratories are introduced and summarized and central characteristics of such experimentation are derived. Based on this, the potential of an experimental perspective is discussed from two angles: as analytical lens and as a design principle.
