摘要

Thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine malignancy, and its incidence is increasing. The diagnostic tools have been improved over the years, now including fine needle aspiration, applying the Bethesda classification system, and neck ultrasound with widespread use of the Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (TIRADS) classification system, being the cornerstones for diagnosis. Advances in integrated genomics have greatly improved our understanding of thyroid cancer development and have indeed facilitated the identification of new molecular therapeutic targets. The present comprehensive review will highlight these facts, as well as the current treatment recommendations for well-differentiated, as well as anaplastic thyroid cancer.
