Implementing a Trigger Logic with Geiger Counters and an Arduino Board
摘要
In large physics experiments, making use of several detectors, it is important to define a suitable trigger condition for the data to be collected, i.e. a selection of the events of interest, especially in cases where the rate of events is so high that they cannot be handled by the acquisition system, or it is not practical to store all of them. Even with a few small detectors, such as Geiger counters, it is nice to understand by simple activities with an Arduino board how to define an appropriate software trigger condition. Examples are provided, which have been also employed during other experiments in this text.
