Investigating the Rossi Transition Curve

The Rossi transition curve describes the production, induced by cosmic rays, of secondary particles in a layer of material above the detectors. As the thickness of the layer increases secondary particles are created as a result of the interactions taking place in the material. However, further increase of the thickness produces a self-absorption of the secondary particles. Experiments aiming at observing such effect may also be designed with set of Geiger counters, as discussed in the present section.
