Measuring the Cosmic Ray Flux at Different Altitudes on Earth

The measurement of the cosmic ray flux at different altitudes is one of the oldest activities in cosmic ray physics and contributed to understanding the nature of this radiation. Educational and amateur experiments to investigate the cosmic ray flux at various altitudes, carried out with simple detectors, even with Geiger counters, have been organized since a long time and may offer interesting set of activities to students and science enthusiasts. Examples of such possible activities are described in this Chapter.
