Evidencing Radon Attachment to Charged Bodies
摘要
A simple experiment to provide evidence of the radioactivity from the radon progeny with a Geiger counter makes use of a rubber balloon inflated and electrostatically charged, which collects radioactive atoms in the air. After a while, the balloon is deflated and placed close to the Geiger. Dataset obtained in different environments are here presented and discussed, showing an increase even by a factor 10 with respect to the background radiation level.
