Comparing Data with Probability Distributions

In this activity experimental distributions obtained by counting events with a Geiger counter are compared with the expected theoretical probability distributions, based on the random nature of the events collected. The basic aspects of the binomial, Poisson and Gauss distributions are reviewed and a quantitative comparison with histograms of collected data is discussed.
