Adopting a Student-Centered Approach to Blended Learning in Engineering Education
摘要
In this chapter, the adoption of a student-centred approach to blended learning in engineering education is discussed. Blended learning combines traditional face-to-face teaching with online learning, creating a more flexible and personalised learning environment. However, the success of blended learning depends on how well it is designed and implemented. A student-centred approach puts the needs and preferences of students at the centre of the learning experience, enabling them to take an active role in their learning. In this chapter, an overview of the benefits of adopting a student-centred approach to blended learning in Engineering Education is provided, including increased engagement, motivation, and achievement. In addition, strategies for designing and implementing student-centred blended learning experiences are discussed, including personalised learning paths, collaborative learning activities, and opportunities for self-reflection and assessment. Furthermore, it is suggested that a general framework for blended learning is tested in one of the diploma-level courses in Electrical Engineering. In conclusion, to maintain the effectiveness and influence of student-centred blended learning in Engineering Education, the significance of continuing evaluation and improvement is emphasised.
