摘要

The use of technology has increased in the recent years especially during the spread of Covid-19 disease all around the world. There was a great need of developing a new system to ensure that people follow the public safety rules to prevent the spread of the disease. The main goal of this work is to create a quadcopter (commonly referred to as a drone) intended for outdoor security applications. The drone includes an implementation of the mask detection that can detect if people wear masks during disease spread. The drone is controlled using Xbox controller, and an Arduino Duo is used as a main Microcontroller for the drone. Raspberry pi is used at the image processing side to recognize people and detect whether they wear masks or not. The required components and how to select them are discussed in details in this work. The drone can be manually operated via the LORA network. Additionally, a Raspberry Pi functions as a server for streaming data and video to a monitoring station's website. This allows for real-time monitoring and alerts in the event of individuals not wearing face masks or the detection of a person of interest within the designated search area. Notably, the drone developed in this project has demonstrated the capability to achieve vertical flight up to 20 m and cover horizontal distances ranging from 60 to 70 m.
