Problems, Aims, and Hypotheses

Challenges with bulk piezoceramic materials are discussed, which leads to the need for flexible and shapable piezoelectric composites. The aims of this dissertation are presented in detail followed by proposed hypotheses. Due to an extremely wide number of variables involved in piezoelectric composite development, the limitations of this study are specified. The chapter ends with a presentation of the terminology used and the outline of this dissertation.
