Results and Relevance of Findings
摘要
This chapter will provide a synopsis indicating all suggested reforms of the Habitats Directive’s provisions on designating Natura 2000. It will arrange the identified issues into three categories according to their priority for reform. Next, this chapter will place this book’s findings in the broader context of national, regional and international law and policy. It will discuss how the suggested reforms of the Habitats Directive’s law on designating Natura 2000 might influence other legal and policy fields such as human rights, sustainable development goals, or the improvement of overarching governance concerns using the example of weak environmental law enforcement. It will indicate how a reformed law on designation in the Habitats Directive might also support relevant environmental international biodiversity law developments including soft law.
