In the previous chapter, we argued that joint activities are fundamentally anchored in their physical contexts and that human actions and interactioninteraction/interactional are coupled to material surroundings (see also Goodwin in Gesture and the dynamic dimension of language. John Benjamins, pp. 195–212, 2007; Co-operative action. Cambridge University Press, 2018; Hutchins in Cognition in the wild, MIT Press, 1995). In this chapter we will discuss how things can be used to coordinatecoordinate joint activities through communicationcommunication and intersubjective relationsintersubjectivityintersubjective relations.
