A Marine Flame Resistance Wall from Renewable Local Natural Fiber

Natural fibers are widely used in industries such as automotive, building and marine due to their environmental benefits and lower cost compared to synthetic fibers. However, natural fibers are not naturally fire resistant. To address this concern, natural fiber composites are treated with flame retardant additives and other methods. In this research, a comparison of the fire performance of three different natural fibers was performed by manipulating the composition of the composite specimens. Factors such as the fiber's ability to withstand fire, the amount of smoke produced, the toxicity of the fiber, and the rate of heat release during combustion were evaluated. Standard fire tests are conducted to obtain reliable data. The aim of this study was to determine the best natural fibers in terms of fire resistance. In doing so, we can provide valuable insight for industries looking to replace synthetic fibers with more fire-resistant natural alternatives.
