摘要

The purpose of this study is to investigate the deposition characteristics of different types of fuels by implementing the hot surface deposition test (HSDT) method as a replacement for the real engine deposition test. In this work, neat diesel fuel (DF) and blended palm oil biodiesel (B10–B50) were used to evaluate the deposit formation on the heated surface. Deposits formation relied on the type of fuels, surface temperature, and droplet interval (wet and dry conditions). In general, the results showed each fuel formed greater amount of deposit during wet condition test compared to that of dry condition test. For both wet and dry condition tests, DF produced the least amount of deposit followed by B10, B20, B30, B40, and B50, respectively.
