Preliminary Measurement of Underwater Acoustic Level
摘要
Anthropogenic noise generated by maritime activities have been increasing which produce several negative impacts towards marine life. This measurement was performed to identify if any disturbance in the water will affect the underwater acoustic level. Measurement was performed by using a basic hydrophone attached to a conversion system in a phone. Three locations with different environment were selected. The setting use for data measurement was based on atmospheric references. The data was converted by using the underwater reference. The final result shows that any disturbance from external sources will increase the underwater acoustic level and potential harm any marine life in an area. The horizontal length and vertical depth of a hydrophone also plays an important role in determining the accuracy of the measurement.
