Numerical Case Studies
摘要
As the first numerical example, wave propagation in an infinite stepped bar of the circular cross-section is considered. It is assumed that only longitudinal elastic waves can propagate within the bar. It is also assumed that the bar is made out of aluminium having the already known material properties: Young’s modulus E of 67.5 GPa, Poisson’s ratio \(\nu \) of 0.33 and material density \(\rho \) of 2700 kg/m \(^{3}\) , also summarised in Tab. 4.2 in Sect. 4.2 . The geometry of the bar under investigation is presented in Fig. 12.1.
