Introduction
摘要
Osteoarthritis of the ankle continues to be a significant problem for patients, and its prevalence, at least post-traumatic osteoarthritis, appears to be increasing. It causes joint deformity, disability, and loss of income, affects patients’ quality of life, and affects a higher percentage and younger age group than patients affected by hip or knee arthritis. Active lifestyles and the growing health consciousness of society with solid expectations have challenged foot and ankle surgeons to develop methods of treatment that improve affected ankle joint functioning.
