Slowing Down, Non-doing, and Being Enough
摘要
We have internalized our dominant culture’s values of efficiency, productivity, scarcity, and urgency. Learning to slow down and allow for non-doing are important aspects of cultivating regenerative systems filled with ease, grace, and healing. Slowing down, non-doing and recognizing our enoughness are deliberate ways to self-nourish. Inherently connected to the earth as we are, self-nourishing is earth nourishing, and it nourishes others too. We must be critical of how we spend our time and recognize that rest and slowing down can be a powerful form of resistance. My own stories of struggle with slowing down, practicing non-doing and enoughness highlight the challenges and benefits of engaging with these practices. This chapter explores how to disengage from cycles that keep us locked in speed, anxiety, and disconnection.
