Introduction

This introductory chapter describes the contributions of Diophantus, Fermat and Euler on Diophantine m-tuples and related topics. Furthermore, the main definitions, results and open problems are introduced, which will be discussed in detail in other chapters. Various generalizations of the notion of Diophantine m-tuples are also mentioned.
