Possibilities of Using Computer-Aided Design Systems to Improve the Quality of Technical Specialists Training
摘要
An important task of our time is to strengthen engineering education that provides training of highly qualified personnel for the digital economy. Graduates of technical universities should have the skills of 3D modeling and development of related documentation by means of computer-aided design systems. The study considers the possibilities of CAD application at the initial stages of professional education of engineering students. The effectiveness of studying computer technologies within such disciplines as “Engineering Geometry and Computer Graphics”, “Descriptive Geometry” and “Engineering Graphics” is shown. A set of exercises is presented, performing which students not only get acquainted with CAD tools, but also consolidate their knowledge of the theory of geometric modelling. The experience gained in this process is considered as a predictor of further successful learning.
