Maturity Level Assessment of a Process Management System: Problems and Prospects of Current Methodologies

This research aims to investigate the specifics and problems of application of existing approaches to maturity level assessment of a process management system in modern market conditions. To achieve this goal, the paper presents a model of interaction between process and functional systems within management; considers the most common approaches to assessment of maturity of process management; carries out their comparative analysis by such criteria, as the connection between the maturity levels of processes and the company, areas and methods of assessment, the number of assessment options, the level of objectivity and costs. The research also presents a universal algorithm for the implementation of the maturity level assessment system. A comparative characterization of existing industry-specific and universal techniques is also presented, together with the identification of existing limitations and potential restrictions for their application. As a result, the authors identify the main problems associated with the existing approaches and propose solutions to minimize the specified limitations.
