The Concept of Asset and Enterprise Value Management in the Development of Industrial Management Theory

The relevance of the study is justified by the need to examine the introduction of the concept of asset and enterprise value management to identify the contribution made to the formation of scientific thought in the theory of industrial management by an outstanding Russian scientist, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Evgeny Semenovich Ozerov, who worked at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The paper identifies the reasons that prompted the promotion of the concept of asset and enterprise value management in Russia and reveals the place of Professor Ozerov’s developments in the theory of industrial management. The paper describes the formation of the branch of economic evaluation and real estate management in Russia, as well as Professor Ozerov’s contribution to the renewal of this branch. The provisions that formed the concept of asset and enterprise value management proposed by Professor Ozerov are considered. There are marked the fundamental nature of the theory of asset and enterprise value management, special contribution to the strategic development of appraisal activity, its infrastructure, normative and legal regulation in the field of economic evaluation, training of market specialists, creation of non-profit associations, which today determine the trends in the work of professional communities. The development of an understanding of the essence and stages of the real estate life cycle, valuation principles, income, comparative, and cost approaches to the valuation of assets and businesses, economic and mathematical tools for determining market value, and other types of value are all highlighted within the framework of the concept of asset and enterprise value management.
