摘要

The study aims to summarize and structure the data on academic school development in terms of training engineering economists specializing in machine-building and studying at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The study is based on a narrative evaluation of literary sources, an organization and planning of industrial production, and a synthesis of the authors’ years of experience in the field. It examines the scholarly works of renowned scientists and scholars who contributed to the acceptance of economics as a science. The work presents the evolution of the studies carried out by scientists, economists and production organizers working at the Polytechnic University. It highlights the key stages of theory and practice development in effective capital investment, technical and economic design and planning, scientific production, and labor management. The study provides a concise summary of the major accomplishments and scholarly publications of polytechnic scientists, researchers, and educators who focus on the basic principles of operational planning, machine-building enterprise management, economic and mathematical modeling, production control automation, organizational and economic challenges in the construction of automated production systems, the theory and practice of domestic production organization, global best practices in production/service management in the market economy, and guaranteeing adaptive production system management during organizational design.
