Transformation of Society: Governance of Global Crises
摘要
The present form of global governance shows the deficits of transformation and the policy and market failure. As governmentally organized and controlled policy it needs to open to new forms of creation of knowledge, agency, and transformative capacity through non-governmental governance in civil society, local communities, and social movements. Dealing with the complexity of social-ecological transformation requires dealing with the different conditions and contexts of regional, national, and local governance. The future governance process becomes one of transforming power relations, power between humans and human power over nature. This will take longer time than expected in the global sustainability policy and requires preparing for the governance of conflicts, crises, and catastrophes.
