Applied Demography

This chapter addresses the increasingly important field of applied demographyDemography, applied. While demographyDemography is by definition an applied science, the subdiscipline of applied demography is particularly focused on applying demographic concepts, methods and data to real world problems. Of particular interest are such endeavors as business demographyDemography, health demography, political demography and educational demography. Concrete examples are provided of these applications and students provided an opportunity to apply their demographic insights in the consideration of real world problems.
